BIM and IoT Integration

EcoDomus was the pioneer in implementing integrations between Building Information Models (BIM) and Internet of Things (IoT) systems back in 2010-2011, when it first connected BIM with Honeywell EBI building management system at the University of Southern California. Since then EcoDomus implemented several integrations for the leading facility owners, such as the US Government Services Administration (with Automated Logic WebCTRL), Howard Hughes Medical Institute (with Siemens Apogee), US Federal Aviation Administration (with Schneider Electric StruxureWare), and others.

Over the past few years more opportunities to connect “things” have been enabled by dozens of IoT-focused middleware companies, and new protocols have been popularized. EcoDomus continues to be at the forefront of BIM/IoT implementations, especially in the area of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), and recently released an updated module allowing a simple and powerful configuration of IoT/BMS/SCADA connections to BIM/FM using open protocols, such as BACnet, OPC, Modbus, etc.
