BIM for FM at Hong Kong MTR (Mass Transit Railway)

With an average weekday patronage of over 5.5 million passengers, MTR is regarded as one of the world’s leading railway operators for safety, reliability, customer service and cost efficiency. The rail network comprises nine railway lines serving Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories. In addition, a Light Rail network serves the local communities of Tuen Mun and Yuen Long in the New Territories while a fleet of buses provide convenient feeder services. Internationally, the Corporation operates and manages London Overground, and TfL Rail, the first phase of the future Crossrail (Elizabeth Line) service, in the United Kingdom, Melbourne Metro in Australia, Stockholm Metro and MTR Express, an intercity railway between Stockholm and Gothenburg in Sweden.

EcoDomus and BIM Academy have started working with MTR on a BIM for Facilities Management project. MTR has been using BIM for several years, utilizing it for design coordination / clash detection, 4D planning and analysis, and other use cases.
